A book about grief and love

Sometimes people die.

They might be old, or sick, or they might die unexpectedly.

Sometimes its hard to understand.

How do you talk to children about love,
loss and grief?

This book provides caregivers with tools to help,
and reminds us that while our loved ones may die,
love lives on – Always.

About Kate (author)

Kate Smith has worked in international health and foreign affairs for more than 20 years in difficult and demanding roles in Australia and around the world with the UN, international organisations and government.

However her greatest challenge came in 2014 while living in the Solomon Islands when her husband died suddenly, leaving her a widow with three small children.

Love Lives on – Always is the book she wanted to find for her children to explain the loss of their father and provide them with the hope that even though we may lose the ones we love – our love for each other will always live on.

About Alex (illustrator)

Alex Miles lives and works in Lutruwita/Tasmania.

She works as a creative consultant producing artworks for public spaces that explore the social, cultural, historical and ecological narratives of her home and its people.

Love Lives on – Always is her first children’s book.
